The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken charge of the investigation into the Bengaluru cafe blast incident. They have disclosed a photograph of an individual believed to be the perpetrator of the explosion and have announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for any information leading to his identification.
Karnataka's Home Minister, G. Parameshwara, revealed earlier today that the NIA has obtained a crucial lead regarding the blast that occurred at the Rameshwaram Cafe in the Whitefield area on March 1st.
The investigation is a collaborative effort between the NIA and the Special Wing of the Central Crime Branch of Bengaluru Police.
Situated in the Brookfield locality within the Whitefield area, Rameshwaram Cafe is frequented by employees of various prominent IT companies.
Despite obtaining CCTV footage of the suspect, law enforcement authorities have yet to locate and apprehend him. Even as Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister, D.K. Shivakumar, expressed confidence on March 1st that the culprit would be caught "within a few hours."
Sources suggest that the individual responsible for the low-intensity IED blast deliberately boarded and disembarked from approximately 10 Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation buses to create confusion among investigators.
Officials are meticulously reviewing CCTV footage within a 3-kilometer radius of the blast site in their pursuit of the suspect.
