India doesn't need lessons from any country on rule of law: Vice President Dhankhar's Assertion

Highlighting the distinctiveness of Indian democracy, Vice President Dhankhar asserted that India requires no guidance on the rule of law, subtly alluding to recent remarks made by the US regarding the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case.

In a recent statement, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized the unwavering strength of India's democracy and its judiciary, stressing that no individual or group could compromise its integrity.

Speaking at an event commemorating the inauguration of the refurbished premises of the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), Vice President Dhankhar underscored the significance of equality before the law in contemporary India. He pointed out that the legal system is now holding those accountable who previously considered themselves above it.

However, he lamented the tendency of certain individuals or groups to take to the streets and engage in high-decibel debates to evade accountability when faced with legal proceedings. He questioned the rationale behind such actions and called for a deeper examination of the phenomenon.

Emphasizing that corruption no longer leads to rewards, Vice President Dhankhar asserted that it now inevitably leads to incarceration. He praised the judiciary for its responsiveness to the needs of the people, highlighting instances where it provided relief even at unconventional times.

Additionally, Vice President Dhankhar reiterated India's candidacy for a seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), arguing that India's constitutionally structured democracy uniquely positions it to contribute significantly to global governance.
