The police said it was a three-shooter murder case. Of the three, two have been arrested: Gurmail Baljit Singh, 23, a resident of Haryana, and Dharamraj Kashyap, 19, an Uttar Pradesh native. The third shooter has been identified as Shiv Kumar Gautam, also from UP. Another person, whom they suspected to be the handler, is also on the run.

The firing took place outside MLA son Zeeshan Siddique's office near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar, the news agency PTI quoted an official reporting. "Two to three rounds were fired. Further probe is underway as teams have rushed to the area," the official said. He was undergoing treatment at the Lilavati Hospital, which confirmed the news of his death. The incident comes ahead of Maharashtra Assembly elections.

The new rule is not going to provide a Namaz break, as followed earlier in accordance with Muslim legislators. This practice, initiated during the British colonial period, as per BJP MLA Biswajit Phukan from the Sarupathar Assembly constituency, used to have a two-hour recess from 12 P.M. to 2 P.M. for the Muslim MLAs for performing the Friday 'namaz'. However, this would no more be followed.
