The prime minister made these remarks while addressing the Gurpurab celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Gurdwara Lakhpat Sahib in Gujarat's Kutch via video conferencing. PM Modi said that the countrymen should remain united to achieve the dreams for which the Sikh gurus sacrificed their lives. He said that the dangers about which the Sikh gurus alerted people, still continues to exist. In his address,  PM  Modi also reminded the countrymen how the goverment successfully brought the Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan to India. He also recalled bringing more than 150 historical objects and a small sword with the name of Guru Hargobind Ji written in Persian from the US to India. Every year, from December 23-25, the Sikh Sangat of Gujarat celebrates the Gurpurab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Gurdwara Lakhpat Sahib, where Guru Nanak Dev Ji had stayed during the course of his travels.
