India firmly rejected China's attempt to rename some places in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday, saying such "preposterous" moves will not alter the "irrefutable" reality that the state "was, is, and will" forever remain part of India.
India's reaction came after China declared new Chinese names for some locations in Arunachal Pradesh as it claims the latter as part of southern Tibet.
Made our observation that China's repetitive and absurd endeavors to re-label places in Arunachal Pradesh," asserted Randhir Jaiswal, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson.
"As true to ourselves as ever in our stand based on principle, we deplore these efforts the most," he added.
"It will never be possible for any such imaginative name-changing to shift the undeniable truth that Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and always will be an integral and inalienable part of India," he added.
