India Debunks Pakistan’s S-400 Claims with Satellite Image from Adampur

However, a single image released this morning has effectively dismantled that entire narrative. A photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi standing at Adampur Air Force Station, saluting Indian personnel, with a fully functional S-400 system clearly visible in the backdrop, served as New Delhi’s most powerful counter to Islamabad’s disinformation efforts.

Pakistan recently claimed it had destroyed the strategic airbase of India's at Adampur, and that its JF-17 fighter jets from China had smashed the Russian-built S-400 missile defence equipment installed there. The story came with claims of crashed fighter planes, radar stations destroyed, and 60 Indian troops killed.

This is not a picture. It's a message. A takedown. A fact check Pakistan wasn't prepared for," government sources familiar with the matter said.

These sources reported that Pakistan's extensive claims were allegedly based on falsified satellite images. In reality, Adampur was pivotal last week in repelling Indian airspace from a barrage of missile and drone sorties launched by Pakistan in reprisal for India's Operation Sindoor — an Army-Navy-Air Force combined operation against Pakistan terror hubs and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Tweeting on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi said: "A while back, I went to Air Force Station Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special moment to be with those who embody valour, grit and fearlessness."

This picture is believed to be the first official visual sighting of India's S-400 system in combat deployment — a platform widely regarded to be one of the world's most powerful missile defence systems.

During last week's 100-hour escalation of the war, Pakistan shelled a number of military bases in Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Ferozepur's civilian areas also came under attack. Indian defense forces, despite widespread offensive activity, reported zero damage.

India, however, responded with effective counter-strikes and publicly corroborated them with evidence — satellite images depicting effective hits on at least 11 Pakistani military targets, including the Nur Khan airbase at Rawalpindi, a scant 10 kilometers from Pakistan's military headquarters.

And Pakistan's sensational allegations? One-word judgment from an Indian government source: "Lies." The Adampur photo — with the Prime Minister at attention next to an entire, intact S-400 — speaks louder.
