India unequivocally condemned the actions of Pakistan overnight as being "escalatory" and "provocative," and laid down a chain of retaliatory actions in response.
Pakistan's military made attempts at air intrusions at over 26 points, stretching from Srinagar to Nalia, which were successfully preempted by the Indian military, Indian officials said.
Indian response involved accurate attacks on six strategic Pakistani military locations—Rafiki, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Juniya—using precision-guided munitions delivered from Indian fighter aircraft. The attacks also hit radar installations at two locations with precision-guided weapons. India's military action was prompt and accurate with minimal collateral damage, as per the briefing.
In addition, India pointed out that the Pakistan military had been seen deploying troops to forward positions, which was concerning for an increase in tensions. "Indian defence forces are in a heightened state of operational preparedness," Wing Commander Vyomika Singh underlined at the briefing, which was also attended by Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
Wing Commander Singh stated that Pakistan had gone for different aggressive means, ranging from drones, long-range armaments, loitering ammunition, and combat aircraft to target both civilian localities and the military installations in the western front. "Pakistan army also turned to drones and high calibre weaponry along the International Border and the Line of Control," she said.
In spite of the ferocity, India was able to successfully counterattack the threats, though there was some minor damage to personnel and machinery at Indian Air Force bases in Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, and Bhuj. The briefing also stated high-speed missile attacks on a number of airbases in Punjab after 1:40 a.m., labeling it a "deplorable and cowardly act."
Apart from military infrastructure, Pakistan also hit civilian establishments, such as healthcare facilities and school campuses at airfields in Srinagar, Avantipur, and Udhampur. "This irresponsible targeting of civil infrastructure has been condemned once again," Colonel Qureshi stated.
In retaliation, India conducted a series of calibrated precision strikes only on known military targets, such as command centers, radar installations, technical facilities, and weapons storage facilities. "Pakistan military targets at Rafiki, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Juniya were targeted with air-launched precision weapons," Wing Commander Singh stated. The attacks on radar installations in Pasrur and Sialkot were also precision munition-based, with minimal collateral damage.
The authorities also spoke about civilian casualties and the fact that the ongoing shelling by Pakistan with heavy calibre weapons had resulted in civilian casualties and widespread damage. The Indian forces retaliated in kind to such provocations, and there was considerable damage inflicted on the Pakistani army.
India also dismissed Pakistan's lies about Indian Air Force bases at Adampur and Sirsa, as well as the BrahMos base at Nagrota, having been destroyed. Wing Commander Singh showed photographs of the air force stations at Sirsa and Suratgarh to establish that these bases were not damaged.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri underscored these points, dismissing Pakistan's "malicious misinformation campaign" and emphasizing that Pakistan still targets civilians and civilian infrastructure, especially in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.
