Delhi's Minimum Temperature Dips to 7.6 Degrees, Air Quality Remains in 'Severe' Category

The national capital woke up to a foggy morning on Sunday, with the minimum temperature recorded at 7.6 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department. Despite the foggy conditions, the air quality in Delhi remained in the 'severe category,' prompting health advisories for senior citizens and children to avoid outdoor activities.

At Anand Vihar, PM 2.5 levels were at 500 and PM 10 at 472, both in the 'severe' category, while NO2 reached 124, classified as 'moderate' by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Other monitoring stations also recorded high levels of particulate matter, indicating a severe air quality situation in various parts of the city.

The persistently poor air quality in Delhi highlights the ongoing challenges of pollution control and the need for sustained efforts to address the sources of pollution. Residents are urged to take precautions, and authorities are expected to implement measures to mitigate air pollution in the region.
