Shraddha Walkar was brutally murdered on the 18th of May, 2022, allegedly by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawala. He later chopped her body into 35 pieces and disposed of the body parts across Mehrauli forest in Delhi. With each passing day, shocking details are coming up about the gruesome murder. On Saturday, November 19, Delhi Police released WhatsApp chats of Shraddha with her then-manager Karan Bhakki and also some of her friends Laxman and Rahul Rai, from 2020 where the victim is seen describing the incident when Aftab had brutally beaten her. In fact, in the initial days of the investigation by Delhi Police, Laxman Nadar said that Shraddha had once messaged him to help her or else Aftab will kill her. Nadar said that he, with some friends, rescued Shraddha and had warned Aftab too but due to Shraddha’s commitment, they did not inform the police. Recently, Shraddha Walkar's Whatsapp and Instagram chats were doing rounds on the internet, claiming that she was in an abusive relationship with Aaftab. Additionally, a letter was written by Shraddha to the Palghar police, where she hinted that she would be killed and cut into pieces following a toxic relationship with Aaftab Poonawala. Here we bring to you 7 such messages of Shraddha suggesting she knew her fate 2 years ago:
1. A Whatsapp chat dated 24th November 2020 with her team leader Karan Bhakki indicates that she was being beaten up by Aaftab. She wrote, “So everything got sorted after going to his parent’s house. He is moving out today. I won’t be able to work today. I have severe body aches and my BP is low because of yesterday’s beating. I have no energy left and I can't even get up from bed.”
2. To her Manager she further wrote referring to an unnamed person and says that she needs to make sure ‘he’ moves out of the house soon. “Sincere apologies for the trouble I have caused you and the way it impacted work,” the message added.
3. In one of the chats with another acquaintance, Shraddha is seen sharing her bruised image to which the friend says, “Bacchae don’t be scared. We all are with you.”

4. Back in 2020, Shraddha had also written a letter to Tulinj Police in Maharashtra's Palghar, which mentioned, "Aaftab Poonawala...has been abusing me and beating me up. Today (November 23, 2020) he tried to kill me by suffocating me and he scares and blackmails me that he will kill me, cut me up in pieces and throw me away.
5. In the letter to the police, she further wrote, "It has been six months he has been hitting me but I did not have the guts to go to the police because he threatens to kill me. His parents are aware that he beats me and that he tried to kill me. They also know we lived together and they visit on weekends."
6. "I lived with him till date as we were supposed to get married anytime soon and had the blessings of his family. Henceforth, I am not willing to live with him. So, any kind of physical damage should be considered coming from him as he has been blackmailing me to kill me or hurt me whenever he sees me anywhere," Shraddha wrote in the letter. However, according to the police, Shraddha later withdrew her complaint claiming the dispute between herself and Aftab Poonawala was resolved.
7. On May 18, 2022, a few hours before her murder Shraddha sent an Instagram DM to her friend, Karan. She wrote, "Dude, I've got the news. I got super busy with something." To this, her friend asked, “What the news?” He asked her at 6.29 pm on May 18. However, Shraddha didn't respond and went silent. On September 24, Karan messaged her again to inquire about her whereabouts and safety. He wrote, "Where the hell are you? Are you safe?". This message was read but Karan received no response, indicating that Aaftab read the message since he was accessing Shraddha's Instagram account.
