In a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, Dakota Fanning revealed a heartwarming tale about her first mobile phone. As the quiz question "Who gave Dakota her first cell phone?" surfaced, her co-star Andrew Scott speculated it must have been a Hollywood icon, Tom Cruise.
Fanning joyfully confirmed Scott's guess, recounting how Cruise had presented her with a Motorola Razr for her 11th birthday while they were working together on the set of "War of the Worlds" back in 2005. "Oh, my God, I was so excited," she reminisced. "I didn't have anybody to call or text at that time. You know, I was 11. But I loved having it. I loved it. I felt so cool."
The actress went on to share a heartwarming detail: Tom Cruise has continued the tradition of gifting her something special every year since that memorable birthday. "Tom sends me a birthday gift every year, and has since that birthday," she disclosed. And just recently, on her 30th birthday in April, she received yet another thoughtful present from the "Mission: Impossible" star.
This isn't the first time Fanning has received a memorable gift from a co-star. In a separate interview with Elle magazine's Ask Me Anything series, she revealed that Kurt Russell, her co-star in "Dreamer," once surprised her with a horse—a gesture that surely left a lasting impression.
