Shah Rukh broke the news while in a Q&A session during the 77th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, where he was being given the Pardo alla Carriera award—popularly called the career leopard award—on Saturday.

For the next movie, 'King', I have to get prepared by losing weight and stretching in order not to be injured during action scenes. It's quite painful, and there are lots of ice packs to help with the pain."

He added jokingly, "I look great doing the action scenes on set, but later on, I'm literally exhausted and require back massages. It is in total contrast with that glamorous image in people's minds at times when they see it on screen."

Shah Rukh, who made an impressive comeback to cinema in 2023 after a five-year hiatus with action films like "Pathaan" and "Jawan," as well as the social drama "Dunki," said, "Doing action scenes requires a lot of practice. Though one has the work done by doubles for those dangerous moves, I believe in doing 80 per cent of the action myself."

The actor also expressed a desire to do more age-appropriate roles. He added that he had discussed such an idea with Ghosh, director of "Badla" and "Bob Biswas" for Shah Rukh's home production, Red Chillies Entertainment.

"I've been thinking about doing more age-appropriate films for the last six or seven years," Shah Rukh said. "I talked to Sujoy about it, and he had an idea ready."
