Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently discussed the deep role fantasies have to play in our own lives, calling them far more than mere dreams—indeed, they are a fundamental part of the human condition.
He said that fantasies represent a rich and complete expression of the imagination, a kind of living that enlivens the soul. Shah Rukh stressed that fantasies do not have age or background boundaries; they are ageless and universal.
On Friday, director and SRK's close friend Farah Khan posted a video on Instagram where the superstar was talking about his views on fantasies. Along with the clip, Farah jokingly wrote, "Shah Rukh, maine toh itna hi poocha tha ki fantasy ke baare me tumhara kya khayaal hai Tum ne toh Fantasy pe movie hi bana di."
In the video, which is included in a biscuit commercial, Shah Rukh explained his own relationship with fantasies and emphasized their contribution to creativity and passion. He stated, "Fantasy, what do you think about fantasy? In my view, fantasy is ahead of dreams. Fantasy is dancing by itself. Dreams are unfinished; fantasy is finished. Listen to it to live, buddy. Fantasy is required. There is no age of fantasy, no life cycle. Every individual has a right to fantasy. I too have some fantasies.
He went on to explain further, "Does anybody have doubt? When you are stuck in a traffic jam on the road, caught in the boss's clutches, sitting at the study desk, struggling to wake up, or caught in the nonsensical logic of complex relationships, you order the fantasy app's OTPM, soar the kite of thought on a rocket, enter fantasy and battle the aliens, or get caught in some other world. Enough of being a hero; be a villain at times. Hit six on the last ball, defeat India. Kiss the prince, take your frog home. No, no, no, sorry, sorry. Kiss the frog, take your prince home. Or be the SRK of a romance film."
The veteran actress aged 59 ended with a mention of the joy and revitalization fantasies provide: "Whenever you get lost in fantasy, you will find smiles on your lips. When you come back from the fantasy world, bring your life to life. Dreams are incomplete; fantasy is complete. Listen to it to live, friend. Fantasy is necessary."
