Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar to Lead IIFA Awards Ceremony in Abu Dhabi Next Month

This year, the IIFA Awards will be a really exciting blend of the best of Bollywood and South Indian cinema, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films. It is this uniqueness of being able to give out the best of Indian cinema with the glamour of Bollywood at the IIFA Awards and the most vivacious spirit of South Indian cinema at the IIFA Utsavam, an official press release has said.

According to the latest news, next month in Abu Dhabi, the main hosts for IIFA 2024, the International Indian Film Academy Awards, will include Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and the famous filmmaker Karan Johar.

The event will take place for a third time from 27 to 29 September at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. It will be followed by an exclusive, invitation-only IIFA Rocks event.

Khan said he was looking forward to hosting the awards and added, "IIFA is a global celebration of Indian cinema, and being a part of its journey over these years has been incredible. I am really excited to once again bring the energy, passion, and grandeur of IIFA to life as we get ready for an unforgettable celebration of Indian cinema.".

Johar, who made a comeback as the host, mentioned his and his late father Yash Johar's long association with the IIFA awards. It's such an honor to bring back magic to the IIFA stage for a third time in history with my dearest friend Shah Rukh Khan. Get ready for an extra-ordinary experience; we're going to shine Yas Island like never before, said Johar.

The star performer for this year, Shahid Kapoor expressed his feelings on being a part of it. "IIFA has always been an exhilarating experience for me, and every time I walk onto that legendary global stage, that magic is unbeatable! I'm geared to give the fans something really special. IIFA has given me some of my most memorable moments in Indian Cinema," Kapoor stated.

According to its founder and director, Andre Timmins, the three-day event will have a wide array of scintillating performances and a rich cultural display. "As we count down to IIFA's silver jubilee in 2025, we are pleased to announce that this year shall be unlike any other, as it brings together Hindi cinema and South Indian cinema in an unprecedented confluence," Timmins said.
