The Hollywood star Kate Winslet has learned to love her age and body image, and she now expects everyone around her to do so.
In her latest role—in the portrayal of war photographer Lee Miller—Winslet faced comments from a crew member on the appearance of her body. According to Mirror.co.uk, the crew member suggested that she should sit up straight in a scene where her character is in a bikini, concealing possible belly rolls. Winslet made it very clear, however, that such physical features had actually been added intentionally for authenticity.
Speaking to Harper's Bazaar, Winslet told how she felt quite proud about showing her age on screen. She said the lines on her face reflect her living and there is no need to hide it.
According to Mirror.co.uk, Winslet has set a challenge for herself to complete 50 remarkable experiences by her 50th birthday. She will be doing a lot of things, from adventurous hikes to small acts of kindness, and is making a special list to guide her through it.
Her next movie, 'Lee', about the fashion model turned WWII photographer for Vogue hits theatres next month.
In June, Winslet remembered the extreme scrutiny that followed her role in the iconic film 'Titanic'. She confessed how such criticism on appearance reached a point when it was beyond handling, even with a family that was very protective. It was a moment of honesty with Variety as Winslet let out her frustrations of how hard it was to express how those comments affected her well-being.
