Variety quoted Condal as saying, "I haven't had discussions with HBO about it. I would just anticipate the cadence of the show, from a dramatic storytelling perspective, will continue to be the same from season two on.".

The second season of  "House of the Dragon" picks up after King Viserys I's death and then charts the consequent struggle for the Iron Throne between his daughter Rhaenyra. Set 200 years before events in 'Game of Thrones', the series draws from parts of George R.R. Martin's 2018 book "Fire & Blood". It is about the tumultuous period popularly known as Dance of the Dragons that shook the Targaryen Empire. Its second season just hit the cinemas this June, with its finale happening last August 4.
