The swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as the prime minister on Sunday saw a massive turnout from the Indian film industry. Celebrities from Shah Rukh Khan and Kangana Ranaut to Rajinikanth with Akshay Kumar joined the event, extending their support to colleagues like Karan Johar and Ajay Devgn, who wished the leader on social media. Over 8,000 people attended the event at the Rashtrapati Bhavan forecourt, virtually sealing Modi's position as the prime minister for the third consecutive term.
"Heartiest congratulations to our honourable Prime Minister - Shri Narendra Modi ji. India looks forward to being led by your strength, passion and vision for the years to come! @narendramodi," Johar shared on his Instagram Stories.
In an X post, actor R Madhavan said he hopes Modi's new term as PM is "phenomenal and exceptional".
"We know you will compassionately lead us to an Era of Stupendous Growth, Progress, Prosperity and make us a Glorious Nation that the world looks up to in awe, because of the Love and Kindness we exude, within the philosophies of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Praying for your good health and the Extraordinary future that awaits this Great Nation," wrote Madhavan, who currently serves as chairperson of the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII).
The list also included Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Raveena Tandon, Vikrant Massey, Anuradha Paudwal, Rajkumar Hirani, and Mahaveer Jain. Shah Rukh Khan came with his manager Pooja Dadlani, and Rajinikanth with his producer-wife Latha Rajinikanth.
Later in the day, a viral image revealed Shah Rukh and Akshay embracing each other warmly on the Rashtrapati Bhavan forecourt. Filmmaker Karan Johar too wished the prime minister through his congratulatory tweet and was hopeful for the years to come.
Through a hard-hitting post, actor R Madhavan shared his expectations for Modi's new term as prime minister, highlighting that the county is moving toward growth, progress, and prosperity. Kangana Ranaut, the BJP MP-elect from Mandi, too, posted her preparation for the day through her Instagram Stories, whereas Rajinikanth said, "This event is the biggest event ever held" with a rose emoji.
Anupam Kher, who attended his third swearing-in ceremony, shared how excited he was through his social media handle, mirroring the movie industry's excitement over the continuity of leadership. Actor and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan arrived at the venue along with his wife Anna Lezhneva. Others present included Manoj Tiwari, Dinesh Lal Yadav, Suresh Gopi, Ravi Kishan, and Chirag Paswan.
On social media, well-wishers poured in from Bollywood, with Ajay Devgn, Rajkumar Rao, and Rishabh Shetty congratulating Modi on his re-election. Devgn wished more significant success to the PM under whose leadership Devgn thinks that the country will continue to prosper. Rao congratulated Modi on his re-election win and hailed him as a leader, wishing the country continues to prosper under his leadership. Popular Kannada actor Rishabh Shetty, famous for Kantara, praised PM Narendra Modi for continuously working for the nation's development, education, and security significatio.

"My heartiest congratulations to our esteemed PM Shri @narendramodi ji on this historic third consecutive win. May our country continue to flourish under your exemplary leadership. God bless you sir. @PMOIndia," wrote Rao.
"Kantara" star and director Shetty also extended congratulations to PM Modi.
"We deeply value your dedication towards the development, education, and national safety," he wrote on the microblogging site.
