Director Rakesh Roshan has confirmed that his son, Hrithik Roshan, will take on the director's chair for the highly awaited fourth part of the Krrish superhero series. The movie will be produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF) along with Rakesh Roshan's house banner, Filmkraft Productions.
Having directed the first three parts of the series, Rakesh stated that he felt proud to entrust the director's chair to Hrithik. In a statement, he said, "I'm handing over the baton of director of Krrish 4 to my son, Hrithik Roshan, who has breathed, lived, and dreamt of this franchise since the beginning with me! Hrithik has a clear and very ambitious vision of continuing the journey of Krrish with the audience for the next decades. I couldn't be prouder to see him don the director's hat for a film that is dear to us as a family!"
Rakesh Roshan, who directed blockbuster hits such as Karan Arjun (starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan) and Kaho Naa. Pyaar Hai, launched the Krrish franchise with Koi Mil Gaya. Hrithik Roshan was seen playing Rohit Mehra, a person of learning disabilities, whose fate changes miraculously after a meeting with an alien named Jadoo. The sequels trace the journey of Rohit's son, Krishna (also played by Hrithik in a dual role), as he comes to terms with his inherited superpowers and becomes the superhero Krrish.
On Aditya Chopra and YRF joining the project, Rakesh added, "It was he who persuaded Hrithik to be in the director's seat. Adi and Yash Raj Films possess the knowledge, insight, and technological strength to make this film and bring immense value to this project. Hrithik and Adi together as a producer-director duo with me backing them is a rare and deliciously creative combination! I'm confident that they will make Krrish 4 a theatrical experience never created in India. The dream is to make India proud worldwide with a larger-than-life experience like Krrish 4."
With Hrithik Roshan at its control and YRF's support, Krrish 4 is emerging as a milestone film for Indian cinema, with an unparalleled cinematic experience for viewers globally.
