Actor Ranvir Shorey, a participant in the third edition of ‘Bigg Boss OTT’, expressed his aspirations of securing substantial acting roles following his stint on the reality show.
When queried about his future in reality television, Ranvir stated to IANS, “I don’t foresee immediately pursuing another reality show, but in this industry, you can never be certain since opportunities as an actor can vary.”
The actor emphasized his eagerness to return to his primary profession after ‘Bigg Boss OTT 3’.
“As an actor, consistent good work isn't guaranteed. Therefore, I am hopeful that promising acting assignments will come my way after this, allowing me to focus on my core job, which is acting. At this point, I don't have any plans to engage in another reality show,” he clarified.
Ranvir disclosed that he had received invitations from the show's producers annually but couldn't commit due to various reasons. However, this year marked a change as he explained his decision to participate in the OTT version hosted by Anil Kapoor.
“This year, it coincided well with my son’s month-long summer vacation in the US with his mother, and I didn't have major work commitments. Hence, it seemed like the right time in my life. Additionally, I felt a need to detox from excessive screen exposure because everything revolves around screens nowadays, from entertainment to communication. I was fatigued by aimless scrolling on social media,” Ranvir shared.
The actor found the break from screen time refreshing over the span of one-and-a-half months.
“So, this is my mindset going into it. I hope to gain something meaningful from Bigg Boss, not just the show benefiting from my presence,” he asserted.
Regarding Anil Kapoor taking on hosting duties, Ranvir hoped the veteran actor would be understanding.
“While I would have been pleased if Salman Khan was hosting, given my past collaborations with him, I believe that could have favored me as a contestant. Nevertheless, Anil sir is a legend, exudes charm, and brings great energy and enthusiasm, which I find exciting. I look forward to interacting with him and hope he will be lenient with me,” Ranvir added.
When asked about handling temperaments within the ‘Bigg Boss’ house, he admitted, “I'm naturally impatient and not the coolest person, so maintaining my composure will be a personal challenge. Fortunately, I'm not under pressure and intend to stay calm during my anticipated one to one-and-a-half-month stay.”
