Cate Blanchett said that nobody got paid to work on the "Lord of the Rings" movies—in a film franchise that grossed over $2.9 billion worldwide.
Appearing on "Watch What Happens Live" with Andy Cohen, the star, now 55, was asked about the largest paycheck she has ever received. Cohen took a stab in the dark and assumed it had to do with "Lord of the Rings."
Blanchett, who portrayed Galadriel—ruler of Lothlórien's elves with Celeborn as an elf-lord, waded in, saying, "Are you kidding me? No, no one got paid anything to do that movie."
