With Bollywood star Sonakshi Sinha all ready to tie the knot with Zaheer Iqbal on June 23, family friend Pahlaj Nihalani said all is well between the actress and her father Shatrughan Sinha.
Earlier, Shatrughan Sinha, a veteran actor who has just been elected as Lok Sabha MP from Asansol on Trinamool Congress ticket, had expressed shock and surprise over the news of Sonakshi's marriage.
According to media reports, former chief of the Central Board of Film Certification Pahlaj Nihalani has cleared the air, saying that there are no problems between the father and the daughter. He further added that Shatrughan might not have been aware of the wedding plans since he was out of Mumbai for three months and actively involved in election campaigning.
Nihalani said that Shatrughan Sinha is very keen to attend the marriage celebrations of his daughter and added that the initial misunderstanding would automatically fade as the relationship between them was too strong.
Drawing an analogy, Nihalani mentioned that Shatrughan Sinha himself chose his life partner 40 years back, and now Sonakshi is doing the same. He clarified that there is no reason for Shatrughan Sinha to get annoyed about it since Sonakshi's choice is as valid as his own back then when he married Poonam Sinha.
Reassurance from Nihalani that all is well with the family as Sonakshi gets ready to take the big step in her life.
