Edtech startup Testbook preparing millions for top govt, pvt jobs

Over 80 per cent of Testbook traffic is coming from the cities and towns beyond the top 10 metros and Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan are the top three states, followed by Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh, according to Ashutosh Kumar, Co-founder, and CEO, Testbook.
Optional exams for Class 12 to be held between Aug 15-Sep 15: CBSE to SC

The CBSE in an additional affidavit said: "Regarding the date before which the optional examination for the candidates who are not satisfied with their assessment with the policy, the examinations for such candidates shall be conducted any time between August 15, 2021, to September 15, 2021, subject to conducive situation.

Over 1100 students move SC, seek cancellation of pvt, compartment exams by CBSE

The petitioner contended that the decision to conduct private/ compartment/repeaters examination of Class XII CBSE Board candidates would endanger the life of lakhs of students. The plea argued that if candidates were forced to appear in a physical mode board examination, it would violate their 'right to life and health' as guaranteed by Article 21 of the Constitution.
Gujarat board's 50:25:25 evaluation plan for Class 12

According to the CBSE evaluation criteria, Class 12 results will be evaluated on the basis of 30:30:40 ratio. This involves the performance in Class 10 -- 30 per cent of the best three performing subjects, Class 11 -- 30 per cent based on final exams and Class 12 -- 40 per cent based on unit tests/ pre-board/midterm exams. The GSHSEB has formed its own evaluation policy which has been framed by a committee of 11 educationists.
After CBSE, ICSE class 12 assessment plan settled, SC takes up state boards issue

A bench comprising Justices A M Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari noted that counsel for the petitioners, in all fairness, informed that out of 28 states, 6 states have already conducted examinations, 18 states have cancelled it, but 4 states (Assam, Punjab, Tripura and Andhra Pradesh) have not cancelled the examination so far.
Class 12 results policy adopted after wide consultation: Nishank

Nishank said that the students who are not satisfied with their result under this process will be given an opportunity to appear in the examination to be conducted by the CBSE if the conditions are favourable. "Our government is committed to the interests and bright future of all the stakeholders in every situation," he said.
SC approves 30:30:40 CBSE assessment plan for Class 12, results by July 31

The Supreme Court on Thursday accepted the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) formula for the assessment of Class 12 students. The CBSE, in an affidavit, informed a bench headed by Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and comprising Justice Dinesh Maheshwari that the performance of the students in Class 11 and Class 10 exams will also be factored in while making the assessments for Class 12 students.
CBSE to submit Class 12 assessment formula in SC on Thursday

Senior officials of the CBSE have expressed hope that the evaluation criteria, which has been prepared on the basis of the report of the 12-member committee of experts, may be released this week. The committee was formed to prepare the formula for giving results and marks for class 12 students. The committee consists of 12 persons, including Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Education and senior IAS officer Vipin Kumar.
UP schools to reopen on July 1 sans students

According to an order issued on Tuesday night by secretary, UPBEB, Pratap Singh Baghel, students will not attend schools till further orders. "Schools may call teachers and employees based on requirement," the order said. For schools affiliated to the CBSE and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), the respective school management committees (SMCs) will decide on calling teachers and administrative staff from July 1.
