United Nations invites applications for online internships in communications | All you need to know

UN says that this internship program has been set up to promote a better understanding of international relations among students and also to give an insight into the functions of the organisation. The interns would be required to assist in the management of online products and activities while directly working under the supervision of the public information associate.

The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) has invited applications for online internships in the field of communications from graduate students and recent graduates.

The internship will be 3-6 month long depending on the preference of the student. The last date to submit the application is July 15. Interested candidates can apply online at https://www.unccd.int/about-us/secretariat/vacancies/apply-unccd-internship.

The interns would be required to assist in the management of online products and activities while directly working under the supervision of the public information associate.

Interns will be required to research, produce and schedule social media content for UNCCD social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn.

Candidates are required to be fluent in written and spoken English. Other UN official languages like Spanish, Arabic, Chinese or Russian would give an edge to the applicant.

Other requirements include a recent graduate degree in Journalism or Mass Communication, Public relations, marketing or similar Or, the applicant must be enrolled in a graduate degree at a certified college and should be in their final academic year.

This internship is based in the UNCCD office in Bonn, Germany, but candidates can work remotely from their home country.

The selected interns will get a chance to improve UNCCDs online presence by working on various projects aimed at growth. Interns’ daily tasks will include conceptualising and developing infographics and other visuals for the convention’s digital platforms.
