No democratic model can sustain itself if it does not carve out spaces for all voices, no matter how big or small to be heard. Punjab schools to open from July 26, with rider

Taking note of the decline in Covid positivity to 0.3 per cent, with reproduction number at 0.75 for Punjab (lower than the national average), he said schools will be allowed to open for classes 10 to 12, but only those teachers and staff, who are fully vaccinated, shall be allowed to be physically present. Physical presence of the students shall be purely at the consent of the parents and the option of virtual classes shall be continued.
No plan to reopen schools in Delhi, online classes to continue: Parents told at PTM

The message was conveyed during  the first Parents-Teachers Meeting (PTM) that was conducted recently in Delhi Government schools. The parents were also told that the PTMs will continue in a staggered fashion until July 31 to connect with them as the new academic session begins.

No CUCET for UG admissions from 2021-22 session: UGC

Earlier, the education ministry had announced that a common entrance test will be held for admitting students to the universities. In a tweet, the UGC said that admission process in central universities during academic session 2021-22 may continue as per past practice in view of prevailing COVID-19 pandemic. "Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) may be implemented from academic session 2022-23,” it added.
DU Admissions 2021-22: Cut-offs based on merit to decide admissions to UG courses

The entire admission process, from registration to the payment,  will be completed through online mode only. Although every year admissions were done through 'cut-offs' but this year, Delhi University was planning to implement the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), which now has been ruled out. 
Amid Covid fears SSLC exams began in Karnataka today

This is for the second consecutive year that the Karnataka State Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) is conducting the SSLC examinations amid the pandemic. As many as 8.76 lakh candidates have registered for the SSLC examination. The examination has been cut short this year due to the second wave of the pandemic.
Tamil Nadu state board declares class 12 results

Tamil Nadu education Minister on Monday declared the results of Class 12 students. The minister said that all the 8,16,473 students have passed which include 4,35,973 girls and 3,80,500 boys. A total of 39,679 students scored in the mark range of 551-600, while 30,600 students of the science stream scored in the range between 551-600. In the commerce stream, 8,909 students scored in the mark range of 551-600.
Delhi pvt schools burn a hole in parents' pocket amid Covid

Hundreds of parents, who have been financially hit due to Covid-19, have discontinued their children's studies from private schools after private schools took trict action against those who could not deposit their fees. All India Parents Association National President, Ashok Agarwal, told IANS that all such parents should consider shifting their children from unaided private schools to Delhi government schools so that they do not have to pay high fees.
