250 private schools in UP threaten to stop RTE admissions
The Unaided Private Schools Association (UPSA) delegation met senior officials of the basic education department with a request to look into their demands, failing which they will not be able to admit a single student under RTE from the new academic session 2021-22. UPSA president said, ", a government has to pay a certain amount to schools for admitting students under RTE.".

IIT Kanpur has got the fifth position and IIT Kharagpur has been ranked sixth in this national ranking. IIT Roorkee has been ranked seventh and IIT Guwahati at number eight. Jawaharlal Nehru University has come at the ninth position and Banaras Hindu University at the tenth position.
US back-to-school week features rising Covid-19 cases
The data shows that more than a quarter of weekly reported coronavirus cases in the US were among children for the week ending September 2. While most pediatric cases are not severe, nearly 2,400 children were hospitalised nationwide with Covid-19 in the seven days ending Tuesday, more than ever before, the Xinhua news agency reported.

St Stephen's cut offs: 99.5% for General, 74.5% for CNI category
In the cut offs for the 2021-22 session given out by St. Stephen's College, for instance in BA Philosophy (Honours) while the cut off for general category in Humanities is 98.75 per cent it is 73.75 per cent for CNI category. In BA History (Honours), the cut off for general category in Humanities stream is 98.25 per cent while for CNI it is 73.25 per cent.
