Over half of students believe using ChatGPT to do assignments is cheating: Report

According to a BestColleges survey of 1,000 current undergraduate and graduate students, about 43 per cent of college students say they have experience using AI tools like ChatGPT. Nine in ten students who have tried AI tools say they've used them for personal projects, out of curiosity, or for fun.

The overall percentage is 83.70% which is an increase of 3.70% from the previous year’s 80% whereas like every year, girls have scored better than the boys this year too. This year, girls have topped all three streams – Science, Commerce and Arts/Humanities. Somya Sharma topped in Commerce stream with 95% whereas Ayushi Nandan topped in science with 94.8%.

Around 6.70 lakh candidates had registered for the examination out of which about 5.17 lakh candidates appeared for the GATE 2023 examination. From the number of candidates who has appeared for the examination only around 1 lakh had qualified the exam whereas the pass percentage was nearly 18 percent. 
IIT-Madras student found hanging in hostel room

A police officer told IANS that his batchmates claimed the student was worried about "focusing on studies", and was under "self-inflicted pressure". This is the second such incident reported from the institute in a month. On February 14, an M.Tech student of IIT-Madras was found dead in his hostel room. The institute also said that the parents of the student has been informed, adding it has requested for the privacy of the student's family.
NEET PG 2023 result declared, Mandaviya says 'great job in record time'

The NEET PG exam was held on March 5 for admission to MD/MS/DNB/Diploma courses of the 2023-24 admission session. Around 2.9 lakh students registered to appear for the NEET PG examination this year. Appreciating the efforts of the NBEMS, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said it has done a great job.

The applicants can check the results on the official website of IGNOU – ignou.ac.in. The PhD entrance exam was conducted on 8th of January 2023 whereas the answer key was released on 1st March and the last date for candidates to submit the feedback through email was 4th of March till 6 pm. 
Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin elected as Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia

Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin succeeds Najma Heptulla, who completed her five-year term as Chancellor of the university last year. The meeting of the Court was held on Monday where the important decision was taken. There are 45 members in Jamia Court, including three Members of Parliament. Jamia Millia Islamia said that an illustrious leader with meritorious and laudable credentials, the 53rd al-Dai al-Mutlaq, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, is head of the one-million strong global Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community since 2014.
Punjab cancels exam of Teachers Eligibility Test

The guilty professors have been identified as Hardeep Singh of the Department of Computer Science and Ravinder Singh Sawhney of the Department of Electronics Technology. The Chief Minister has directed the police to arrest the perpetrators of the TET exam irregularities. He has also asked the police to take action against the guilty so that it acts as a deterrent for others.
