Australian university denies ban on applications from Indian students

UGC asks universities to allow students to write exams in regional languages even if course is in English medium

The letter states, "Once teaching, learning, and assessment are conducted in local languages, student engagement will eventually increase, leading to a higher success rate. This will significantly strengthen efforts to achieve the target of enhancing the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in higher education from 27% to 50% by the year 2035."
US students to land first robotic rover on Moon, before NASA

The Iris rover has been developed by the students of Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania. It will be carried to the Moon as part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) programme, Space.com reported. The mission, likely to be launched this spring, represents America's first robotic Moon rover, as well as the first rover developed by university students.
EWS quota not applicable in admissions: Jamia Millia to Delhi HC

A division bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Yashwant Varma was hearing a plea by a law student, who has sought 10 per cent reservation for students belonging to the EWS category at the time of admission from academic year 2023-24 in the Jamia Millia Islamia. The bench had granted two weeks' time to the university to file its reply to the petition filed as Public Interest Litigation (PIL).

According to reports emerging from sections of Australian media, it has been alleged that migrants from India used the student visa system as an easier alternative to access work rights in Australia. Reports further said that cases of sham visas are on the rise and therefore, Australian authorities have restricted entry of Indian students.
JEE Main 2023: Know expected cut-off for different categories

The cut-off is expected to be 63 to 68 for the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category, and for the OBC-NCL (Other Backward Class-Non-Creamy Layer) category applicants, the cut-off is expected to be 66-70. The cut-off is expected to be 25 to 27 for SC (Scheduled Caste) category applicants.
