UGC declares 20 universities, including 8 in Delhi, as fake, cautions students to verify institutes

Last year, the UGC had declared 21 universities as fake. The UGC stated that these institutions are not authorised to grant any degrees to students and alerted the students as well against taking admission in these institutions. It strongly advised parents and students to cross-check the authenticity of universities before enrolling in any course.
VP asks students to not become part of anti-India narrative by some foreign universities

The Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar made the remarks while addressing the Centenary Year Convocation of Jamia Millia Islamia here at Vigyan Bhawan on Sunday.  Dhankar asked the students to be inquisitive and focus on objectivity when dealing with such situations.

According to The Tab, about 48 institutions have investigated at least one student since December 2022 for using ChatGPT in their assessments.At least 377 students have been investigated for using AI chatbots in a university-assigned piece of work .
