On Tuesday, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the results of the 2025 Class 10 Board exams.
This year, an impressive 93.66 percent of students cleared the exam, with more than 23 lakh candidates appearing at 7,837 centres in 26,675 affiliated schools.
Like every year, girls performed better than boys, recording a pass percentage of 95 percent.
Region-wise, Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayawada, and Bengaluru performed the best, whereas Delhi was at seventh position, and Guwahati took the last position.
The students may view their results on the official CBSE websites — cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, and results.cbse.nic.in. Results are also available on DigiLocker, the UMANG app, and through IVRS.
For making it simpler for them to access, CBSE has issued DigiLocker login credentials to students' registered mobile numbers, allowing them to download verified digital versions of their mark sheets and certificates.
To see their scores, students will have to provide their roll number, admit card number, school code, and date of birth. At least 33 percent in theory and practical examinations is required to pass, with grace marks being awarded in a few border line cases.
Earlier today, CBSE also announced the results of the Class 12 Board exams, with an 88.39 percent pass percentage, a minor improvement of 0.41 percent over the past year.
The supplementary exams for both Class 10 and Class 12 are tentatively planned for the first or second week of July 2025. The supplementary exams will be based on the same syllabus that the main Board exams took earlier this year.
In a significant update, CBSE has implemented a Relative Grading system from the 2024–25 academic session. The system is different from the earlier fixed grading system, where students are graded against their peers on the basis of their performance, with the intention of curbing academic stress and competition.
A total of more than 42 lakh students took the CBSE Board exams conducted between February 15 and April 4, with Class 10 exams ending on March 18 and Class 12 exams ending on April 4.
CBSE, India's largest school board of examinations, is also the nation's second-largest public examination system after the general elections. The Board has affiliated schools covering countries from Japan to Ghana, teaching a large number of 204 subjects for Classes 10 and 12.
