Gautam Adani has reclaimed the title of Asia's richest person overtaking Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani. The fortunes changed due to a significant rise in the stock prices of the listed companies in Adani's apples-to-airport conglomerate.
Adani's net worth has reached USD 111 billion, positioning him as the world's 11th wealthiest individual, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Ambani's fortune, on the other hand, stands at USD 109 billion, placing him at the 12th spot globally.
On Friday, the shares of all Adani Group companies saw a remarkable surge of up to 14 per cent. The surge followed a positive outlook of US brokerage firm Jefferies, which said that the group had a capital expenditure plan for USD 90 billion over the next decade, marking a new phase of expansion.
