Three Boeing 737 Aircraft Owned by Jet Airways Put Up for Auction

The aircraft are currently stationed in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad, with reserve prices fixed at ₹90.02 crore, ₹70.64 crore and ₹4.93 crore, respectively.

Three Boeing 737 aircraft belonging to the defunct Jet Airways are set to go under the hammer on Saturday as part of the airline's ongoing asset monetisation process following the Supreme Court's liquidation order.

The aircraft are currently stationed in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad, with reserve prices fixed at ₹90.02 crore, ₹70.64 crore and ₹4.93 crore, respectively. The third aircraft has been assigned a substantially lower reserve price because it is missing its right engine and auxiliary power unit (APU).

The auction follows the sale of three Boeing 777 aircraft owned by Jet Airways to Malta-based Ace Aviation in February this year. Those aircraft have since been restored to flying condition and are expected to depart India after obtaining certificates of airworthiness.

The three Boeing 777s, registered as VT-JES, VT-JEV and VT-JEM, were sold for $16 million, $12.5 million and $17.5 million, respectively.

According to people familiar with the process, several other Jet Airways aircraft are yet to be auctioned because ownership-related issues linked to outstanding loans remain unresolved.

Founded by Naresh Goyal in 1993, Jet Airways suspended operations in April 2019 after facing a prolonged financial crisis. The Supreme Court ordered the airline's liquidation in November 2024 after attempts to revive the carrier failed.
