Mukesh Ambani Forecasts India's Energy Demand to Double by the End of the Decade

Ambani praised PDEU for spearheading education and research in this critical domain and announced four groundbreaking initiatives aimed at equipping students with expertise in cutting-edge energy technologies. These initiatives include a 45 MW Solar PV production line for training in solar energy production, a Smart Hybrid Micro-Grid System to impart knowledge about energy storage techniques, an Apple Lab for technology exploration and skill development, and a multi-game Sports Arena to nurture high-quality sporting talent.

Reliance Industries Chairman, Mukesh Ambani, highlighted the imminent doubling of India's energy demand by the close of this decade. Speaking at the 11th convocation of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), where he serves as President, Ambani underscored the pivotal role of energy transition in India's journey toward becoming a global leader in green, sustainable, and inclusive development.

Expressing both humility and pride, Ambani disclosed that Reliance Foundation had already disbursed over Rs 130 crore, out of a total commitment of Rs 150 crore, to enhance infrastructure and elevate PDEU to a world-class standard.

Beyond its role as an energy university, Ambani emphasized that PDEU is a crucible where the vision of a clean, green, and sustainable future is being translated into reality.

Looking ahead, Ambani projected an unprecedented economic surge in India over the next 25 years. From the current $3.5 trillion economy, he envisioned India reaching a $40 trillion economy by 2047. Acknowledging this growth trajectory, he emphasized the necessity for copious amounts of clean and green energy to sustain development without compromising the environment. Ambani's remarks underscore the profound significance of sustainable energy solutions in India's future economic landscape.
