Elon Musk congratulates PM Modi on winning third term, looks forward to 'exciting work' in India

Musk had originally planned a visit to India in April this year but had to postpone due to pressing Tesla-related commitments. He was scheduled to visit on April 21 and 22 to meet with Prime Minister Modi. Musk assured that he intends to reschedule his visit for later this year.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, on Friday extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on winning third consecutive term in office.

The tech mogul expressed his excitement about his companies' future investments in India through a post on X.

“Congratulations @narendramodi on your victory in the world’s largest democratic elections,” Musk wrote.

“Looking forward to my companies doing exciting work in India,” he added.

Musk had originally planned a visit to India in April this year but had to postpone due to pressing Tesla-related commitments. He was scheduled to visit on April 21 and 22 to meet with Prime Minister Modi. Musk assured that he intends to reschedule his visit for later this year.

“Unfortunately, very heavy Tesla obligations require that the visit to India be delayed, but I do very much look forward to visiting later this year,” Musk explained on X.

In June of the previous year, Musk met with PM Modi in the United States, where he expressed optimism about Tesla entering the Indian market, along with the potential launch of Starlink services.

Tesla is anticipated to establish a manufacturing unit in India and make substantial investments. Last year, the company sought reduced import duties from the Indian government to facilitate the entry of its vehicles into the market.
