This poll points out how Indian knowledge workers view organisation as a major factor in productivity. As per the report commissioned by Atlassian and carried out by Wakefield Research, 94% of Indian professionals are of the opinion that the most productive people are also the most organised.

Interestingly, 82% of Indian employees rate themselves as more organised than their colleagues, indicating a high level of self-perceived organisational capability. Yet, the survey also shows that individual organisation systems differ greatly. Although conventional systems of order are prized, younger professionals tend to create unorthodox but efficient methods. Indeed, 71% of Gen Z and 72% of millennials assert that although their organisation system might look disorganised, it is efficient for them.

The research also points out how Indian employees organize tasks, with 46% maintaining two distinct to-do lists for personal and work-related tasks, and 27% combining both into one list. Interestingly, work tools are impacting personal habits of organization, with 83% of Indian knowledge workers, particularly senior executives, applying work-introduced tools to organize their personal lives.

This report highlights the changing face of productivity and organisation in contemporary Indian workplaces, where formalised approaches exist alongside customised systems to improve efficiency.
