Rain disrupts normal life in Delhi, traffic snarls at various places

The rain caused massive traffic jams in various parts of Delhi leaving commuters stranded in long queues of cars at major roads like ITO junction among others. Some roads that witnessed massive traffic jams were Barapullah flyover towards DND flyover, Dwarka-Palam road towards airport, Samalkha Crossing towards Kapashera Border, Palam flyover to Sadar Bazar metro station road, Delhi Cantt, Timarpur among several others.

On July 2, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Snigdha Sarvaria at the Patiala House Courts rejected the bail plea of Zubair in connection with the case and granted his 14-day custody as sought by the Delhi Police. "Since the matter is at the initial stage of investigation and given the overall facts and circumstances of the case and nature and gravity of the offences alleged against the accused, no ground for grant of bail is made out," Sarvaria said while dismissing Zubair's bail plea.
Medha Patkar, 12 others booked for 'misusing' funds donated for Narmada valley

An FIR was registered in Barwani district on Sunday against Patkar and 12 other trustees, alleging that the funds raised by them were used for political and anti-national agenda. The development came days after Patkar faced massive opposition at Dhinkia village in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district, where a protest was staged against a JSW steel project, as locals asked her to go back while she tried to make her way to the residence of a jailed protester.
RSS sets target to take RSS shakhas up to one lakh by 2024

CBI seized my daughter's laptop, will move court: Karti Chidambaram

That cupboard was opened today and there were only clothes. The CBI found nothing and seized nothing. However, the CBI has illegally seized a laptop and an iPad belonging to my daughter. She is a University student.. that laptop contains her academic work. Assam: 5 Rohingya children flee from observation home

The five, said to be in their teens, have been identified as Md. Hussain, Md. Hassan, Mofijur Rahman, Jamal Hussain and Harul Amin. They are have been missing since July 1. The incident came to light on Friday. Silchar was reeling under unprecedented flood when the Rohingya children escaped. They reportedly crossed the observation home's wall at night and swum away. According to sources, the possibility of "an outsider's connection" in the incident cannot be ruled out.

Big media group's top management questioned by ED in alleged FEMA violation

Sources have said that the top managers of the firm were questioned by the ED on several occasions in connection with alleged violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). A few firms based in the British Virgin Islands were dealing with BCCL. The ED has found transactions of about Rs 900 crore, which are now under the lens of the anti-money laundering agency.

Gujarat advocate gets life threat for supporting Nupur Sharma

Sabarmati Police Sub Inspector U.K. Pandya is investigating into the complaint lodged by advocate Krupal Raval. Based on technical input, police were able to track down Bhuj based Shah Nawaz, who had threatened the advocate. Police Station Officer told IANS that on Wednesday itself a police team was dispatched to Bhuj to pick up the accused.
