US President Joe Biden called a Fox news journalist “stupid son of a bitch” on a live microphone after a photo-op and a press briefing at the White House on Monday.
The incident occurred after the event when the journalist asked President Biden on the impact of high food and consumer inflation on the mid term polls scheduled in November this year. Biden, who was possibly unaware of the microphone still switched on, replied sarcastically “It's a great asset. More inflation.” He followed this by cursing the journalist, calling him “stupid son of a bitch.”
A pool reporter admitted to not being able to hear what President Biden quipped about the journalist but nevertheless added that he would like to “direct your attention to video of the event if you are curious how the president really feels about being asked about inflation from Fox's Peter Doocy,” as per a report by AFP.

Later in an interview on Fox news, Doocy chose to ignore the insult. Taking a swipe at supporters of President Biden, he joked that “nobody has fact-checked him yet and said it's not true.” He nevertheless admitted that President Biden later called him an hour later saying, “It's nothing personal, pal.”
The White House has however not issued any clarification unlike the previous gaffes which Biden has made. They made the transcript public without omitting the comment thereby officially making it part of the official record.
As per the latest Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll, Biden's approval rating has hit a new low at 33 percent, as per a report by The Hill. Of the registered voters polled, 53 percent disapproved of his job as the President. The Biden administration has been tackling multiple issues at the same time including the botched-up Afghanistan response, high domestic inflation coupled with steep oil prices and an aggressive Russia threatening the eastern plank of NATO and a botched up response to the Omicron-led COVID wave.
