US Police Confirm Shooting Victim in California Not Goldy Brar

"There is no truth to the speculation that the homicide victim was identified as Goldy Brar," Dooley said in the statement. "This identifies the victim clearly."

The Fresno police department in California denied Wednesday reports that one of the victims in a recent shooting incident was said to be Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar. Lieutenant William J. Dooley responded to the rumors in an emailed statement, denying that there was any truth to the guesswork about the victim's identification as Goldy Brar.

The names of the two people who were shot are yet to be known from the authorities. The police declared that one victim died in the hospital, and the other was discharged after undergoing some medical procedures.

Late Tuesday evening, according to police statements, the shooting incident happened at Fairmont and Holt Avenue in the northwestern area of Fresno.

The younger victim, who police say is around 30 years old, received bullet wounds to the upper body and was in critical condition and thereafter died in hospital. Meanwhile, the other sustained injuries on the lower body and was discharged after medical treatment.

Despite the shooting incident occurring in California, the reports indicated that the homicide victim was Goldy Brar, a notorious gangster in Canada. These reports, which claimed to have originated from US media sources, contained contradictory and inaccurate information; for example, information regarding the location of the shooting and claims of involvement of rival gangs in the murder.
