Bankman-Fried had been on house arrest in California since December 2022 while awaiting trial on fraud and money laundering charges. According to Inner City Press, judge Lewis A. Kaplan ordered late on Friday that he be remanded after prosecutors pushed to have his bail revoked.

His attorneys seek to dismiss the conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud charges, reports TechCrunch. The lawyers also seek to dismiss a few other charges, including bribery and political contribution charges, the report mentioned.

According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), the average price for regular gasoline was $4.676 per gallon on Sunday, which already beat the state's previous record of $4.671 set in October 2012, reports Xinhua news agency.
