US Announces $425 Million Security Aid Package for Ukraine

Friday, Pentagon released a statement detailing how the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) is meant to "address key security and defence requirements.".

It said the US Defense Department planned to increase funds to the security in Ukraine to an estimated $425 million.

The assistance would include the tranche as follows: NASAMS munitions, Stinger missiles, c-UAS equipment and munitions, air-to-ground munitions, HIMARS ammunition, artillery ammunition from both 155mm, and 105mm, and TOW missile, also Javelin and AT-4 anti-armour systems, the Stryker Armoured Personnel Carrier, small arms and munitions, and medical as well as demolition equipment with munitions.

It is the 69th shipment of equipment coming from the US Defense Department inventories to Ukraine since August 2021.

"The United States will continue to work together with some 50 Allies and partners through the Ukraine Defense Contact Group and its associated Capability Coalitions to meet Ukraine's urgently needed battlefield requirements and defend against Russian aggression," the Pentagon said in a statement.
