Published by Xinhua, it outlines the need for both warring camps to implement the listed measures urgently and unconditionally.

The resolution critically provides that the world is against any form of activity that would change the state of the Geography or demography of the Gaza Strip, meaning anything that undermines the integrity of the state.

It affirms the determined support of the Security Council for the two-state solution, living side by side in peace and security with the State of Israel and the State of Palestine, independent and sovereign, within mutually recognized and agreed borders, based on the 1967 lines, in the frame of international law and the relevant UN resolutions.

The text also highlights the importance of reuniting the Gaza Strip with the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority.

Speaking after the vote, Algeria's permanent representative to the UN, Amar Bendjama, said Algeria's vote in favor was a step in the context of seeking an immediate and lasting ceasefire. He recognized the resolution was not perfect but identified the potential it may offer to Palestinians in the context of continued conflict and the need for diplomacy.
