Key concerns that remain are those to do with Internet-induced self-radicalization. Singapore's Internal Security Department has handled three such cases of self-radicalization since July last year. They include a 14-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy, and a 33-year-old woman, according to the report by Xinhua news agency.

While the 14-year-old was radicalized by the Israeli-Palestine conflict, the 16-year-old was roped in by far-right extremist ideologies. Singaporean authorities have handled 52 cases of self-radicalized individuals since 2015, including 40 Singaporeans.
