On Tuesday, Sri Lanka's Public Security Minister Rear Admiral(Retd) Sarath Weerasekara demanded an apology from Pakistan's Defence Minister Parvez Khattak for his highly insensitive remarks on the Sialkot lynching case. Sialkot mob lynching case is very bruatal of its' kind where mob burnt alive a Sri Lankan factory manager, accusing him of blasphemy. Khattak said murders even take place when the young people get emotional and so the lynching should not be linked with the government's recent decision to lift the ban on Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

Amid the countrywide outrage on the Sialkot lynching, Pakistan's Defence Minister Khattak deleivered highly insensitive comment, that "murders take place" even after the young population gets emotional, and so the lynching should not be linked with the government's decision of lifting up the ban on TLP.
2. To this statement, Sri Lankan Minister Sarath Weerasekara gave a reaction that Khattak must apologise to the people of Sri Lanka for hurting their sentiments with those remarks, Sri Lanka's News1st TV channel.

3. Not just Sri lankan Minister but the remark was highly criticised by the Pakistan's media as well, saying it can "only be interpreted as a pathetic justification for murder." "Such a statement from federal minister should come as a shock, but unfortunately, we are accustomed to our public officials being in denial about the realities of extremism and violence in the country," the Dawn newspaper said in its editorial.
4. On last Friday, supporters of TLP lynched and burnt alive a Sri Lankan garment factory manager, in Sialkot, Pakistan over the allegations of blasphemy.
5. However, after citizens of the nation outraged and the incident surfaced on the social media platform, PM Imran Khan vowed to take strict action against the perpetrators.
