Switzerland legalizes use of 'suicide pod' to help people get painless death  

While voluntary euthanasia has been a hot debate topic along with being a socio-cultural taboo in several sections of the society, Switzerland's Suicide Pod legalization has made it the first country to allow its citizens to voluntarily use a life-taking technology.

Switzerland's medical review board has legalized the use of portable suicide capsules to painlessly end lives in less than a minute. These capsules are 3D-printed pods that can be used by people who want to end their life. 1. The Sarco Suicide Pods are developed by Exit International and designed in a way that the person who enters the capsule can themself operate it from the inside, according to a report by The Daily Mail. The organisation is a non-profit firm that been advocated for the legalization of voluntary euthanasia.

2. There are certain criteria for being qualified for using the suicide capsule which majorly includes that the person should take the decision to their own life and the decision should be free from the influence of any external factor. According to media reports, a survey is presented to the person who wishes to end their life, to ensure that the decision is solely their choice.

3. After the survey the users will be asked a set of pre-recorded questions before they initiate the process. As soon as the user initiates the process, the death will occur in less than a minute, as per the claims of the creators.

4. The person in the capsule dies due to hypoxia and hypocapnia which are conditions in which the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels are reduced in respectively, according to a report of The Independent.
