Russian Official Warns Against EU Military Presence in Ukraine, Predicts Escalation

Zakharova highlighted that if the West were to officially deploy troops to Ukraine or enlist mercenaries from European Union (EU) states, it would constitute a direct escalation. However, she acknowledged that military personnel from several NATO countries are already present in Ukraine, offering various forms of assistance to the country's armed forces.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova cautioned that any form of Western military presence in Ukraine would directly escalate the situation, as reported by Xinhua news agency on Wednesday. She emphasized that each new shipment of weapons from Western nations already contributes to escalating the conflict.
