Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday praised India for its "well-deserved authority" in the world and praised its proactive engagement in overcoming significant global challenges.
In messages celebrating India's Independence Day to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Putin underscored Russia's commitment to deepening the "special privileged strategic partnership" between the two nations.
"India has deservedly authoritative positions in the world and actively contributes to the solution of the most significant problems on the global agenda," he said.
"We appreciate our special privileged strategic partnership relations with India," the president of Russia said.
Putin was sure that, thanks to joint efforts, Russia and India will further develop positive bilateral cooperation in a variety of areas.
This fully serves the interests of our friendly peoples and is in line with the pursuit of improving security and stability at both the regional and global levels," he concluded.
