A senior White House covid advisor has called out China and WHO over the haze around the origins of Covid-19, saying they need to do more research on the origin of the coronavirus pandemic.
White House Covid advisor Andy Slavitt further said that the world has to get to the bottom of this and need transparency from China with the help of WHO. He further said that things are not like that as of now.
During the same press briefing, the Joe Biden administrations top medical advisor Dr Anthony Fauci said that they feel strongly that they should continue with the investigations and go to the next phase of the probe that the WHO has done.
"It is our position that we need to get to the bottom of this and we need a completely transparent process from China. We need the WHO (World Health Organization) to assist in that matter. We don't feel like that we have that now," said WH Covid advisor Andy Slavitt on Tuesday during a briefing.
"We need to get to the bottom of this whatever the answer maybe and that's a critical priority for us," he added.
These statement from America’s top medical advisors come after the Wallstreet Journal posted a thorough report that claimed that a month before Beijing reported the first patient with Covid-like symptoms, three researchers from China’s Wuhan Institute of virology had been admitted to hospital after they fell ill in 2019.

"The US government has reason to believe that several researchers inside the WIV became sick in autumn 2019, before the first identified case of the outbreak, with symptoms consistent with both Covid-19 and common seasonal illnesses," the report read, fueling debate of the lab leak theory.
The revelations have been gaining prominence from around the world as many reports have surfaced that suggest the origins of COVID 19 were indeed inside China’s laboratory. The unmasking of China’s shady covid programme has been raking in the interest of journalist and scientists alike.
