Efforts to prevent a further escalation of hostilities are underway, with mediators striving to broker a viable ceasefire agreement.

The statement also highlights Israel's concerns regarding the well-being of 134 individuals held captive by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, noting that 31 of them have reportedly died according to Israeli intelligence reports. Israel has requested a list of surviving hostages, a demand which Hamas has thus far failed to meet.
