Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has made a resolute declaration of a forceful retaliation following the attack on an event commemorating the anniversary of the assassination of Revolutionary Guards commander Qasem Soleimani by the US.

Khamenei conveyed a stern message, stating, "Those responsible for these heinous acts must recognize that they will face severe consequences moving forward. A robust and decisive response is inevitable."

The Islamic State, known for its previous assaults on civilians and security personnel in Iran, claimed responsibility for the attack. The group had previously expressed approval for the demise of General Soleimani, who had unified a coalition across the region against their operations, revealing their claim through their communication channels on Telegram.
