Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has firmly pledged a resolute and forceful response to the individuals responsible for orchestrating and executing the grievous "act of terror" witnessed in the southeastern city of Kerman.
Expressing his sentiments through a published message on his official website, Khamenei extended condolences for the tragic loss of at least 95 lives, including three police officers, and the injury of 211 others in what he termed as "terrorist blasts" near the burial site of the late Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.
Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, Khamenei underscored that those accountable for perpetrating this heinous "act of terror," alongside those who orchestrated and sanctioned it, will face definite and just retribution henceforth. This resolute statement signifies a firm commitment to holding the culprits accountable for their actions, ensuring justice for the innocent lives lost.
He further reinforced the gravity of the situation by affirming that those responsible for instigating this catastrophe would face severe consequences for their actions.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi echoed this condemnation, denouncing the "criminal act of terror" in a condolence message. He emphatically pledged that those accountable for this appalling "terrorist" incident would imminently face repercussions for their cowardly and despicable actions, as per a statement released on his office's website.
Underlining the urgency of identifying the masterminds behind this inhumane act, Raisi urged all provincial authorities to take decisive measures. These measures are intended to alleviate the suffering of the affected individuals, provide necessary care to the injured, and reinstate order and tranquility within the city, emphasizing the importance of restoring normalcy in the aftermath of this distressing event.
