In a recent session at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, India took a stance by voting in favor of a significant draft resolution. With 42 member states lending their support, the draft resolution titled ‘Right of the Palestinian people to self-determination’ secured adoption within the Council. However, it's noteworthy that the United States and Paraguay dissented from the consensus, being the sole two nations in the 47-member Council to vote against the resolution. Additionally, abstentions were recorded from Albania, Argentina, and Cameroon.
