Imran Khan Alleges Poisoning of Wife Bushra Bibi in Sub-Jail Custody

While refraining from directly accusing anyone, the 71-year-old leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) hinted at knowing the perpetrators behind the alleged poisoning. He emphasized that if any harm befell Bushra, the responsibility should rest with the Pakistan Army chief, as he claimed that members of an intelligence agency were controlling affairs both at his residence in Bani Gala and Adiala jail.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, currently incarcerated, voiced concerns over his wife and former First Lady, Bushra Bibi, alleging that she was poisoned while being held in his private residence, which had been converted into a sub-jail. Speaking during the hearing of the Toshakhana corruption case in Adiala jail, Khan informed Judge Nasir Javed Rana about the incident, citing marks on her skin and tongue as evidence of the poisoning, reported by the Express Tribune.

Khan urged the court to authorize a medical examination of Bushra by Dr. Asim from Shaukat Khanum Hospital, expressing distrust towards the doctor who previously examined her. He also called for an inquiry into the poisoning allegations.

Responding to Khan's plea, the court directed him to submit a detailed application regarding Bushra's medical examination.
