Andrei Chibis, the Governor of Russia's Murmansk region, finds himself in a precarious state after being assaulted following a meeting in Apatity on Thursday. At 45 years old, Chibis is currently in a grave condition and undergoing surgery in the intensive care unit, as confirmed by Yuri Shiryaev, the chief physician of Apatity-Kirov Hospital, in a statement to the Xinhua news agency on Friday.
